As a resident of Eastlake, I am one of the 600,000+ San Diego County residents evacuated due to the San Diego Firestorm 2007. I was one of the lucky ones, however, who could seek solace in my home away from home - the Blarney Stone Pub in Clairemont. . .

Even though the San Diego wildfires still rage in the East County, most of San Diego proper has made a definite turn towards recovery.
The air seems much clearer by comparison - though we’re warned it’s still too toxic to get back to our usual active outdoor lifestyle. That’s when we need to look to fun indoor activities in San Diego to get our minds off things. . .

Perhaps the most authentic Mexican restaurant north of the border, Old Town San Diego’s Mexican Café is also the local favorite. Flaunting fresh ingredients and traditional recipes passed down through storytelling, this Old Town restaurant is alive with culture, history, and Mexican food done right. . .

Dirty Sweet is one of my favorite local San Diego bands. If you see them now, you can say you heard them before they got really famous! Dirty Sweet comes with great a great tour resume and a very user-friendly sound. A Dirty Sweet concert would be a great choice for a date in San Diego. I usually don’t approve of “bar dates”, but a night at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach listening to a great up-and-coming San Diego band is probably something I can endorse. . .
