The New Children’s Museum has been open for more than a month. If you haven’t been yet, you need to go. It may be one of the hippest children’s museums in the nation. And we’re reeling in the hyperbole here, people. A good day to visit the new space would be this weekend because then you can check out the new Children’s Museum Park, which celebrates its grand opening on Thursday afternoon. The park is located on Island Avenue and Front Street just across the way from the museum and has all the park essentials, including a playground, reading circle, lawn and shade trellises plus a few museum-type extras like artwork by Quincy Troupe and Roberto Salas.
