This morning I saw a post that may be of interest.
Sticky floor no more for the once self-proclaimed (and this is one venue that has certainly earned it), “premiere dive bar extraordinaire,” because, like many bars and clubs as of late in San Diego, Scolari’s Office has experienced one serious renovation. To investigate the new remodel, I must admit that I almost drove past the place. From the front door to the bathroom, Scolari’s, to all who have flocked, haunted or visited this memorable relic, is absolutely unrecognizable to the unaccustomed eye…

Calling all beer connoisseurs! After swirling up the hopes of many for the last two years, the legendary Toronado bar has swept down from its original San Franciscan location to grace San Diego with a little city flavor. For those of you who know and love the Toronado in its first habitat, the new San Diego Toronado in North Park will not disappoint. Through the creation of an inviting image, by smugly camouflaging its sophisticated air with those dive-bar elements…

Alexis Griffith did a great write-up today on discoverSD.com.
The first paragraph is here:
If you’re looking for a pack of sports nuts, fans or groupies huddled around the bar, worshiping the almighty television while hooting and hollering because of that last successful play (or bad call) the San Diego Sports Club is probably the last place you’ll find it. Not to say that crazy sports people aren’t welcome, but the type of “fan” that composes this “club” falls outside that athletic arena…

This morning I saw a pretty good post.
These are the areas of San Diego that either lie on the border of two districts or really have no definitive name, and if they do, the locals will be the only ones to inform you on the proper nomenclature. This is certainly not a bad thing, because you could, perhaps, find yourself in a place like The Waterfront, located west of the hustle and bustle of Little Italy…

One part Ocean Beach and one part Irish pub is the concoction that is Gallagher’s Pub and Grill, tucked away on Newport Avenue. Gallagher’s is typical of most Irish pubs in San Diego with their scantily clad waitresses, grumpy bartenders, dark lighting, and Irish proverbs, often in the form of Guinness ads; however, Gallagher’s has also incorporated all the elements that are essentially Ocean Beach…

discoverSD.com had an interesting post today.
Placed inconspicuously (especially given the name) among a few pawn shops, an “adults only” depot and a liquor store, the San Diego Beauty Bar lies along a skid-row corner like a diamond in the rough…

This morning I saw a pretty good post.
There is a new bar in North Park that has officially proved San Diego nightlife is evolving. U-31 sounds more like a submarine than a hot nightlife spot, but it is a very spacious, non-claustrophobic causal watering hole that communicates every component to the environment has been carefully thought out…

discoverSD.com did a good write-up today.
On Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2008, the San Diego Chargers will play their third playoff game in four years against the Tennessee Titans at Qualcomm Stadium. Regardless of the final score, the collective reaction will definitely be filled with emotion - and we San Diego fans need to stick together, and drink together…

Nick McCann blogged something interesting today on discoverSD.com.
Opened in the spring, Bar Pink Elephant in North Park is The Swami’s first San Diego nightlife creation. John Reis is not the only owner of the bar, but the local perception is that he built the bar with his bare hands. That is the one underlining element to the bar that is undeniably present…

discoverSD.com had good topic today.
As a resident of Eastlake, I am one of the 600,000+ San Diego County residents evacuated due to the San Diego Firestorm 2007. I was one of the lucky ones, however, who could seek solace in my home away from home - the Blarney Stone Pub in Clairemont. . .
